VoxUK Terms of Service

1. Eligibility

VoxUK is available to residents of the United Kingdom aged 17 or over. By creating an account, you confirm that:

You are a UK resident
You are at least 17 years of age
If you are under 18, you have parental or guardian consent to use the app

2. Your account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. You must not share your login credentials or create multiple accounts. VoxUK operates a one-account-per-person policy to ensure fair petition signature counts.

3. Acceptable use

When using VoxUK, you agree to:

Be respectful to other users — no hate speech, harassment, or personal attacks
Stay on topic — comments must relate to the petition being discussed
Not post spam, self-promotion, or commercial content
Not spread misinformation or deliberately misleading claims
Not share personal information about yourself or others (names, addresses, phone numbers)
Not attempt to manipulate petition signatures through bots, fake accounts, or automated tools

4. Content moderation

VoxUK reserves the right to:

Remove comments, petitions, or content that violates these terms or our Platform Rules
Suspend or permanently ban accounts for repeated or serious violations
Use automated tools and human review to moderate content

Content decisions are made at our discretion and are final.

5. Petition rules

Petitions on VoxUK must:

Relate to UK national government policy that the UK Parliament has the power to act on
Be based on factual reporting from verified news sources
Contain a specific, actionable demand (not vague calls for "more action")

When a petition reaches 1,000 app supporters, VoxUK may create a corresponding official petition on petition.parliament.uk. VoxUK does not guarantee that all petitions will be submitted to Parliament.

6. Intellectual property

All VoxUK branding, design, and app content is owned by VoxUK. News article summaries are generated from publicly available RSS feeds and are used under fair dealing provisions for the purpose of public interest reporting and commentary.

7. Limitation of liability

VoxUK is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the app, including but not limited to loss of data, service interruptions, or the outcome of any petition.

Important disclaimer: VoxUK is an independent platform and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the UK Parliament, HM Government, or petition.parliament.uk. Official petition data is sourced from publicly available Parliament.uk APIs under the Open Government Licence v3.0.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app. Continued use of VoxUK after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of VoxUK shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
